RTÉ dismisses sports producer Kieran Creaven after he pleads guilty to child sex offences

He will be sentenced next year.

RTÉ HAS ANNOUNCED it has sacked TV sports producer Kieran Creaven.

On Monday, Creaven, 55, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 years of age following grooming.

He also pleaded guilty to a second charge of attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13-15 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.

Creaven had initially been suspended following his arrest. However, RTÉ has confirmed he has now been dismissed following his guilty plea.

Creaven will be sentenced in February next year.

Comments are off as legal proceedings are ongoing.
